Creep Behavior of Flakeboards Made with a Mixture of Southern Speoes
نویسنده
چکیده
Deftection of oriented ftakeboards, random ftakeboards, and southern pine plywood was evaluated for small size bending specimens and concentrated loads applied to panels nailed on framing lumber. The ftakeboards con~ed a mixture of southern hardwoods and pine; the plywood was 3-ply l/2-inch and 4-ply ~-inch construction. Tests of both panel ~ons, all load levels and RH cycles showed plywood bending specimens with the smallest deftection increase, and both random and oriented ftakeboard bending specimens showed more increases. The plywood relative creep averaged 1.76; the ftakeboard relative creep averaged 2.26 and 2.30 for oriented and random construction, respectively. For the concentrated loading, oriented ftakeboard panels with the smallest initial deftection had the l8IFst creep after 32 days. Random ftakeboard and plywood showed less creep.

In the present paper, time dependent creep behavior of hollow circular rotating cylinders made of exponentially graded material (EGM) is investigated. Loading is composed of an internal pressure, a distributed temperature field due to steady state heat conduction with convective boundary condition and a centrifugal body force. All the material properties are assumed to be exponentially graded a...
متن کاملIdentification Effect of Nanoclay on Engineering Properties of Asphalt Mixtures
Nanoclays are new generation of processed clays of interest in a wide range of high performance composites. In other words, nanoclay is defined as a clay that can be modified to make the clay complexes compatible with organic monomers and polymers. Here, it can be said that the polymeric nanocomposites are among the most exciting and promising classes of materials discovered recently. A number ...

Polypropylene is one of the most common, fastest growing and versatile thermoplastics currently used to produce tanks and chemical piping systems. Even at room temperature creep is considerable for polypropylene products. The creep behavior of strains, stresses, and displacement rates is investigated in a thick-walled cylinder made of polypropylene reinforced by functionally graded (FG) multi-w...
